Red Weather Warning Service Update for Our Parks

Due to the Red Weather Warning for extreme heat in place for Wednesday 24th June and Thursday 25th June we will be taking the following actions at Parc Bryn Bach and Bedwellty House and Park to keep our staff and visitors safe on these days:

  •  The children’s play area at both parks will be closed.

  • A limited menu will be available at the Lake View Café at Parc Bryn Bach and the Orchid House Tea Room at Bedwellty House.

  • There will be no outdoor adventure activities available at Parc Bryn Bach, including go-kart hire.

  • All open water swim sessions at Parc Bryn Bach will be cancelled on Wednesday and Thursday.

  • The Junior Golf Taster Session at Parc Bryn Bach on Wednesday 24th June is cancelled.

It’s also important to consider the following if you’re planning a visit over the next few days:

  • Do not enter or swim in the lake at Parc Bryn Bach – the water can stay very cold even on a hot day, which can be very dangerous. For more information on Summer Water Safety, please visit the Royal Life Saving Society website here.

  • Cover up with suitable clothing (including a hat and sunglasses) and use sunscreen liberally, re-applying it when needed.

  • Consider walking earlier or later in the day.

  • Be sure to keep hydrated and carry water with you (including water for your pets if they are out and about with you).

  • Avoid walking your dog on hot paths/roads or other surfaces that may burn their paws.

  • Hot, dry weather increases the risks of fires – so please dispose of cigarettes carefully.

Please take care and keep yourselves safe.
