Engaging the Community

Across all our sites we work to improve community life and understanding and working to help achieve the needs and aspirations of the people of Blaenau Gwent is at the heart of everything we do.

Our wellbeing coaches and community engagement officers through the Activate Blaenau Gwent initiative work with partners across the region to help raise awareness of the projects and initiatives that are taking place in local communities to help improve the physical and mental health and wellbeing of all residents.

Some of the initiatives that we are involved with include promoting new initiatives through your local library such as renting sports equipment and litter picking equipment; working with partners to support young carers and adult carers; working with partners to recruit volunteers to help with maintaining the grounds at Parc Bryn Bach and Bedwellty House and Park; supporting families and individuals to feel healthier, more confident and connected to their community.

Engagement through Sport

Our sports development team works tirelessly with groups to provide activities that support the local community, and works with partners across the private, public, voluntary and third sector to help improve our services to you.

Working with the Youth Sport Trust, the sports development team has developed the leadership and volunteering pathway for young people in Blaenau Gwent.
