Clayton Shorthouse Memorial Triathlon Wins Inclusivity Award

We are excited to announce that The Clayton Shorthouse Memorial Triathlon at Ebbw Vale Sports Centre has been awarded the 'Inclusivity Award 2025' by Welsh Triathlon.

In honour of Clayton, this event was always intended to bring people together, from all walks of life to enjoy the sport Clayton loved the most ... Triathlon.

This year at the second Clayton Shorthouse Memorial Triathlon we had a surprise visit from Amy at Welsh Triathlon, who stayed with us all day and couldn't be more complimentary of the whole event, from the organisation to the support and enthusiasm throughout.

Our sports centre team completed the Inclusivity Award application form and we were lucky enough to get a nomination, and then even better, WE WON!

This event wouldn't be the success it is without Clayton's family and friends, not to mention the many clubs that Clayton belonged to at one time or another, the staff at Ebbw Vale Sports Centre, the North Gwent Cardiac Rehab team, and not forgetting the amazing people who came along and took part, or cheered those on who competed.
