Whitsun Half Term Fun

There’s lots of fun for families and children to enjoy this Bank Holiday Monday and across the Whitsun half term holidays at our Aneurin Leisure Trust venues across Blaenau Gwent.

Parc Bryn Bach

Take to the water for a fun and engaging Tiki SUP session on Thursday 29th May and explore the lake on one of our group stand-up paddle boards with your friends. This activity is suitable for children aged 8+ and costs £12 per person.

On Friday 30th May children aged 8-14 years can enjoy an exciting Adventure Activity Day on both land and water at Parc Bryn Bach, activities are weather dependent and may include the cave, climbing wall, bush craft, orienteering and Tiki SUP. This activity is £22.20 per person.

Visitors can also enjoy the children’s play area and explore our wildlife sculpture trail, both of which are FREE to access. There’s also mini golf and go-kart hire, BMX hire and mountain bike hire to fill up your day, and our Lake View Café to enjoy lunch or a snack between adventures. Libraries

Join us for some fun-filled storytelling at our libraries this half term as we jump into some animal themed books for our FREE Wiggly Words interactive storytelling sessions for children aged 3 - 9 years. Visit our What’s On page for more information on the days and times of these activities.

Cwm Library will also be hosting a FREE Seed Friday drop-in session on Friday 30th May from 10.30am - 12pm where participants will be able to plant seeds and enjoy a treasure hunt and colouring activities.

All activities are FREE for library members to enjoy but booking is essential - so call your local library to reserve your space!

Sports Centres

There’s so much to enjoy at our sports centres this half term! Playschemes are back for children aged 8 - 12 years at all 3 sports centres, offering fun filled multi-sports games from 10am - 1pm followed by an optional swim session (£6.50 per child). Disability Family Swim Sessions at our sports centres also provide an inclusive family swim session for children with disabilities to enjoy alongside their siblings and parents or guardians/carers this half term, these sessions include FREE access for disabled children and siblings with a paying adult/carer.

Abertillery Sports Centre will also be hosting a McDonald’s Fun Football Camp with the FAW on Thursday 29th May for children aged 8-12 years, at a cost of £3.50 per child.

Bedwellty House & Park

Come along and join us for a fun family-friendly Whitsun Craft session on Wednesday 28th May where you can paint your own mug. This is a family activity suitable for all ages, however younger children will require help from an adult (£10 per child). For more information visit www.bedwelltyhouseandpark.com

The park is also open daily until 8.30pm to enjoy a scenic walk or picnic, the Orchid House Tea Room is also open daily, offering a range of delicious meals, refreshments and sweet treats.
