Holocaust Memorial Day at Blaenau Gwent Libraries
Blaenau Gwent Libraries are marking Holocaust Memorial Day by creating meaningful space for reflection and sharing powerful local links to Holocaust history.
Tredegar Library Reflection Space
From Monday 26th until Friday 30th January a dedicated reflection space will offer a quiet area for visitors to learn, reflect, and engage with this year’s theme of Bridging Generations.
Born Survivor – Testimony of Eva Clarke
Copies of Born Survivor will be available across all Blaenau Gwent libraries.
This remarkable book shares the testimony of Eva Clarke, a Holocaust survivor with a personal and honoured connection to Blaenau Gwent as a Freeman of the Borough. Her story brings global history closer to home, giving our communities a powerful local link to the events we remember today.Themed Book Displays
Our libraries will be showcasing a selection of fiction and non-fiction titles in the lead up to Holocaust Memorial Day.
Holocaust Memorial Day is a time to honour the six million Jewish people murdered during the Holocaust, alongside the millions of others persecuted and killed by the Nazi regime and in more recent genocides.
Libraries play a vital role in keeping these stories alive. We encourage visitors to explore the resources available, spend time in the reflection space, and engage with the testimony that helps bridge generations and preserve memory.
